Doughnuts!

So Remember That Time I Posted And I Said I'd Tell You The Story Later? You Remember Don't You? It Was This Post http://floatsieisofftheclock.blogspot.com/2006/06/three.html . Anyways, So You See That Bird Over There In The Water - It's White And Looks Like A Crane Or Someting - Well I Was Snapping Shots Of The Crazy Lighting Of The Sky (I'll Post Another Shot From The Day To Show You That) And I Noticed It Walking Along The Edge There So I Decided To Sneakl Up On It. My Sister Waqs Waiting In The Car On The Side Of The Road And Saw Me Head Over In That Direction. Well, I Was About 35 Yards Away And Closing In Rather Stealthily When Nicole COme Ripping Around The Corner, Music Blasting, And Starts Doing Doughnuts In The Gravel Parking Lot About 25 Feet From Where The Bird Is Hanging Out. Needless To Say The Bird Was Scared Shitless And Took Off In Rapid Flight Leaving Me White Nuckling My Camera Trying To Fight Off The Anger That Was Building Thanks To My Sisters Wonderful Display Of Driving. This Was One Of The Better Shots I Got Of The Bird But I Was So CLose To A Great Shot - Oh Well. Okay That's It For Now - Cheers.

On Guard

A While Back I Lived In Waterloo - Possibly The World Head Quarters For Canada Geese - And Often Found Myself Crossing Paths With These Guys. Usually They're Pretty Dosile, But Once The Goslings Are OUt And Exploring Along Side Their Parents Mom And Dad Arn't So Keen on Having Stange Looking Hippies Wander Up With Cameras And Curiosity. As You Can See Here, I Was Being Told To "Get Outta Here!" By This Wonderful Gander Standing On Guard While His Newly Hatched Fuzzy Offspring Quietly Grazed On The Vegetation. Anyways - I Like This Picture And I Hope You Do Too.

The Tragically Hip

Well Any Of You Guys That Know Me Even A Little Bit Know That I Am A Pretty Big "Hip" Fan. I Got The Chance To See Them Again On Saturday Night At Fort York With "The Sadies" And "The Weakerthans" Along Side My Sister Nicole. The Waether Was Perfect And The Concert Was Even Better. They (Gordon Downie, Paul Langlois - Who I Never Got A Decent Shot Of Since He Was On The Other Side Of The Stage - Gord Sinclair, Rob Baker, And Johnny Fay) Played A New Set List Which Meant We Got To Hear Some OF Their Less Played Songs On Tour Along With A Healthy Serving Of The Classics. They Opened With "Don't Wake Daddy" And Then Followed With Nearly 2 Hours Of Fantastic Tunes Coming Out For An Encore For The Thousands Of Chanting Fans - "HIP! HIP! HIP! HIP!" I Plan On Seeing These Guys Again This Summer, Perhaps In Stratford, Where I KNow They'll Play Another Amazing Show. Maybe I'll Even Get TO Be FIRST ROW Again. Anyways, The Shots Arn't The Greatest Because I Was Too Into The Music To Set Up My Camera Properly But I Hope You Like Them Anyways.

Gordon Downie

Here He Is Folks, My Idle, Mr. Gordon Downie. His Unique Voice Has Been The Basis Of My Music Collection FOr As Long As I Can Remember And Is One Of The Main Causes For Having To Go ONto A Behaviour Contract Whiel In Residence At University. I Blasted His Voice Through The Halls Every Day And Rocked Out To My Favourite Hip Songs Constantly. Eventually It Got To The Point Where I Was Being Fined 50 Dollars A Week For Having My Hip Turned Up Too Loud - But It Was Worth It. I Love The Hip And I Love To Sing Along And That's Exactly What I Did While Snapping These Photos At The Concert On Saturday. Hope You Like Them.

Johnny Fay

It Was Kinda Hard To Get Any GREAT Shots All Night Due The The Fact That I Was Front Row Bouncng And Yelling And Being Bumbed Into All Night But I Got A Few Decent Ones. Here Is Johnny Fay On Drums Who Was The Hardest Member Of The Band To Snap A Shot Of Since He Was Way At The Back Of The Stage.

Mr. Sinclair

This Is Gord Sinclair Who Plays Bass In The Tragically Hip. Let Me Just Say That This Was An Awsome Show By An Awsome Band.

Bobby

Here Is Rob Baker, Lead Guitar Of The Hip. It Was Pretty Awsome Being Front Row Right In Front Of Him While He Played Some OF My Favourite Tunes. Hope You Like It.

...Gord

This Is Gordon Downie In True Form. Ol' Godie Is This Close To Being Deemed Completely Insane And This Is Why He Is My Hero. Gord Is The Lead Volcalist In My Favourite Band "The Tragically Hip" Who I Saw On Saturday Night At Historic Fort York With "The Sadies" And "The Weakethans." The Show Was Awsome And I PLan On Seeing Them Again This Summer. Stay Tuned For Many More Pictures From The Concert.

Nottawasaga Sunset

Snapped This Little Beauty On The High Banks Of The Nottawasaga River In Wasaga Beach. 72 Mosquito Biyes, A Wicked Case Of Poison Ivy, And A Few Gashes On The Lower Limbs Later I Had Managed To Get Back Down To The Bottom And Out To Civilization. The Sun Is Setting Over Georgian Bay And You Can See The Small Reflection On The Water As It Dips Below The Horizon. Hope You Like It.

Tony

Just Before I Left Waterloo On A 6 Hour Bike Ride Back To Collingwood Kristy And I Had Noticed This Guy Hangin' Out In The Dorny Garden Outside Of The Coffee Shop In ES1. We Quickly Grabbed Our Cameras And Stealthily Snapped Some Shots While He Cautiously Posed For Us. It Was Pretty Awsome And We Got Nice And Close Before He Flew To The Saftey Of A Tree. Fun Photog Times.
Cheers.

Crazy Wayne

So Nicole And I Went Down TO The Harbour To Take Some Pictures One Day. We Were There For About 4 Minutes Before We Were Approached By Wayne...2 Hours lAter We Left Wayne And The Pier Behind Us With Zero Photographs Of Anything Other Than This Dude. He Was Basically Having Some Kind Of Mid-Life Crisis: He Was Lost, Alone, Confused, And Looking For Purpose. He Rambled For 2 Hours Straight Hardly Allowing Either Of Us To Say A Word Or Offer Advise Or A DIffering Point Of View. In A Detailed Monologue He Described His Entire Life Story FromEarly Childhood To The Death Of His Grandma To The Worst break Up Of His Life. He Was Really Hung Up On This Break Up That Happened Over 35 Years Ago Forever Living In The Past. He Stated The Only Thing That Got Through To Him Was The Word Of God Which Helped Him From The Time He Was A Young Man. It Was Sad To See Him Paralysed In The Past Unable To Let Go And Move On But Also Very Interesting To Listen To His Story. I Offered What Advise I Could To Him But Most Importantly I Offered My Ears, Which I think Is What He Really Needed Most. My Sister Declared Him Insane And I Don't Think I Agree 100% With Her. Wayne Is Just A Little Confused And A Little Lost And All He Really Needs Is Someone To Share His Stories With. If You Ever See Wayne Don't Be Shy, Listen To His Stories And Then Maybe Think About Some Of Your Own. Perhaps You Will Come Out Of This COnversation With A Little More Insight Into Your Own Life, A Little Wiser, A Little Less Confused.

The Rule

So Im Still Just A Rookie At This Whole Photography Deal But I Enjoy It And It Helps Me To Tell My Stories. Anyways, For Those OF You Who Do Not Know There Is This Rule; The Rule Of Thirds. The Rule Is A Little Tricky For Me To Explain But Imagin The Photo Divided Evenly Into 9 Squares (rule of 9 makes more sense to me). There Are 4 Resulting Cross-Hairs To These Squares. The Optimal PLacement FOr A Subject In A Photograph Is At Any Of These Cross-Hairs. In This Photo I Think I Took It A Little Too Far - I Used 3 SubjectsAnd 3 Cross-Hairs Which May Or May Not Have Been Taking The "Rule" Too Seriously - But I Like It So Tell Me What You Think. P.S. Lots And Lots More Wind Surfing Pictures To Come - Be Prepared!

Three

Well, I Like Sunsets - I'm Sure You've All Came To This Conclusion A While Ago - But This One Was Really Neat. There Is A Story Behind This Picture But I Think I'll Save It For Another Time When I Post Another Photo From The Same Adventure. So Stay Tuned!!!
P.S. Don't Forget To Leave A Comment Or Two, That's The Whole Reason Why I Do This Silly Blogger Deal.

Mountain Market

A Couple Of Times A Week I Ride My Bike Up To The Mountain (Blue Mountain) And Tool Around There For A Few Hours. I Bring A Lunch, Check Out The Stores, Sit By The FIre Or On The Docks And Just Relax. This Is One Of The Newer Stores Up There Since Intrawest Took Over A Few Years Ago. I Just Liked The Lighting. That's All For Now.

Look Out! Here Comes The Spider Duder.

Continuing With The Theme Of My Last Post I Thought I'd Show You Kids Something That Facinates Me. I Marval - Get It? Marval - Like The Comic Books - Anyways, I Marval At These Creatures, Everything About Them Is Just So Cool; The Way They Walk, The Way They Eat, The Way They Catch Their Prey, Everything About These Guys Is Just So Neat. So Anyways, I Found This Guy On An Old Garden Shed Late At Night - He Was Pretty Huge And Pretty Awsome. I Watched Him Catch And Kill A Giant May Fly And Spin It Up In His Web. Okay, Check Back Soon (Later Today) For More Posts.

The Usual Suspect

So Like I Said, I've Been Going On A Lot Of Adventures SInce I Left Waterloo. Some Of These Adventures Have Been With My Sister Nicole, Who Is A Little Less Adventurous Than Myself, And Therefore Our Adventures Are Slightly Less Rugged But Equally As Fun. These Are From A Trip We Took To A Nearby Field Where We Stopped To Pick Some Flowers And Watch The Butterflies. These Particular Flowers Are Dames Rocket And The Butterfly Is The Famous, But Becoming Endangered Due To Pollutants Along Their Migration Path, Monarch. I Hope You Like Them.

Beauty Is Only Skim Deep

Well Since I'm Sorta Back To Posting I Guess I Better FIll Ya In On Just What Exactly I Have Been Doing During The Past Few Months. This Is Skim Boarding And Is One Beautiful Sport. Style, Grace, And FIness Are Key Aspects To A Dece Run And When You Nail A Solid Ride There Isn't Much That Can Top The Feeling Of Satisfaction You Get. This Is Tyler Showing Off A Bit Leaning Back And Stetchin The Skim To A Wild 15'. Tyler, Mason (his Twin Brother) And Me Have Known Each Other Since Birth And Ofter Go On Crazy Adventures. Stay Tuned To See What Else I've Been Up To The Last Little While.

The Approach

The Approach Is Even More Important Than The Mount You Need A Good Run And Great Toss To Have A Great Skim.

Poetic

Here He Is Again Runnin' The Shore And Layin' Down a Decent 12 Footer In Unconventional Style.

BAIL!

Once You Get Comfortable On The Board You Start TO Try THings A Little Different - A Little More Speed, A Little Longer Skim, A Little Tweak Here Or Spin There - And You Progress To Trickier And Trickier Runs...That Is Until You Bail Nice And Hard - Then You're All The Way Back To Low Confidence And Simple Runs. This Was The Case With Tyler Here As He Biffed Pretty Hard In The Shallow Water. Enjoy It - I Sure Did.
Cheers

Matt Mays & El Torpedo (2)

Way Back In May Kris, Justin, Brian, Alec, Fellow ES'ers And Myself Attended Another Matt Mays Concert In Waterloo. We All Got A Little Carried Away With Excitement And Had An Awsome Time Rockin' Out With Matt Mays And The Boys Along With The Novaks. It Was A Stellar Show And I Can't Wait To See Them For A Third Time. Here Are A Few Shots Form The Evening - Keep IN Mind I'm Not Using My Computer To Post These So The Quality Of The Images Might Not Be Up To Par Since I Can't Edit At All.

The Man Himself

Here He Is Again Later In The Show - Much Too Hot For That Happenin' Hat Of His.

YeeHaaaw!

With Matt In His Cowboy Hat Strumin His Guitar YouCOuld'nt Help But Have A Fun TIme. This Is What Happens When You've Got Slow Shutter Speed And Crazy Dancing Combined - Fun!

Rockin' Out

I Sang Along As Matt And The Boys Rocked Out All Night Long.

Good Tunes. Good Times.

They PLayed A Tremendous Set With All The Classics And The Best Of The New Tunes.

Time Of Your Life

Needless To Say They Didn't Disappoint And We All Had The Time Of Out Lives And Will Continue To Do So Until We're Dead.

I Think Not!

For Those Of You Who Gave Up And Thought I Had Reached A "Dead End" In My Postings You Were Wrong. The Long Wait Has Allowed Me To Compile Several Images From Various Adventures - As A Matter Of Fact I'm Pretty Much Backed Up With Photographs So You Might Only Gte To See A Few OF My Adventures Highlighted On Here Because I Don't Want To Sit Here And Post For A Week Straight. So Anyways, This Shot Is From A Little Trip Nicole (My Sister) And I Took At The End Of April To The Top Of Blue Mountain. The Wind Was Fierce And The Temperature Was A Mere 4ÂșC - Brrrrr! Check Back In The COming Days For Lots And Lots Of Updates And Don't Forget To Leave Lots And Lots Of Comments!
