Father & Son

This Father And Son Duo Were Watching The Sun Set At "The Spit" At Collingwood's Harbour On Georian Bay Last Week. Although There Wasn't A Great Deal Of Excitement On The Scene The Time Spent Together Was Well Worth It I'm Sure. After All, July 26th, 2006's Sunset Is A Once In Eternity Moment And To Share This Moment With Someone You Care About Is Something Special. I Wish I Would Have Shared More Moments With My Dad When I Was A Child - But I Suppose There Will Be A Few More Moments To Have Before All Is Said And Done. Go And Share A Moment With Someone You Care About Today - You Only Live Once And Life Isn't Worth It Unless You Can Share It With Those You Love. Cheers. Posted by Picasa

Calm Waters

Tuesday Nights Are Usually Sailinh Night Out In The Nottawasaga Bay (Georgian Bay) But The Lack Of Wind And Calm Waters Did Not Support The Weekly Tradition A Few Days Past. Here Is A Sail Boat Heading Back To Harbour With Sails Down As The Wind Was Not Powerful Enough To Push The Craft Inland. Anyways, Hopefully Next Week I Can Get Some Decent Sailing Shots. Sweat

Can you Believe How Fast Summer Is Going By? It Was A Whole Month Ago That I First Posted Some Of My Tragically Hip Photo's. I Am Running Out Of Time! In The Next Month I Have To Find A Place To Live, Get A Job, Register For School, Finish 4 Essays, And Still Find A Way To Have Some Fun Along The Way. Every Year Time Moves Faster And Faster And So Do We, Maybe We Should All Just Slow Down A Bit, Catch Our Breaths, And Take It All In. Hope You Like Gord;s Sweaty Backside - You should See His Frontside, It Looks Like He Wet Himself - Maybe I'll Post That Shot In Another Month. Cheers Folks! Posted by Picasa

Poker Face

This Is The Smallest Face Of All The Bluffs In The Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area. Nicole And I Did Not Venture Over To The High Ones Because It Was Close To Sunset And The 3 Kilometer Hike Out Of The Woods In The Dark Seemed To Discourage My Sister's Adventurous Attitude. We Opted For The Shorter Hike Leading Past The "Best Caves" Trail And Made It Out Of The Forest Before Darkness Had Fallen. All In All A Pretty Sweet Hike Any Way You Slice It.

From Within

Here's Nicole Hanging Out Outside Of This Wonderful Little Cave We Found At The Nottawasaga Bluffs Last Week. The Hiking In The Area Is Pleasant And Not Overly Challenging While Offering Some Sweet Caves, Caverns, And Of Course, Cliffs. Beginner Hikers And Expert Expeditionists Will Find The Bluffs A Wonderful Place To Spend An Afternoon Or Two As The Area Allows Overnight Camping. Whether You're Trekking The Enchanting "Keyhole" Trail Or Exploring The "Best Caves" Trails It's Pretty Awsome From Start To Finish. Hope To See You There One Day!

And They Were All Yellow

I Went Caving With Nicole This Afternoon - It Was Pretty Awsome! She Really Wanted To Take Some Flowers Home With Us So We Did - On My Camera. Leave Only Footprints And Take Only What You Bring Folks. We Saw Some Neat Stuff, Ate Some Berries, Met Some People And Had Some Fun Out In "The Nature." More Shots From The Nottawasaga Bluffs Still To Come - Stay Tuned!

Toronto Street Festival

Nicole And I Went Down TO The Toronto Street Festival A Few Weeks Ago And Happened To Walk Past This Artist Creating A Gigantic Display Comprised Of Roses And Mirrors. It Was A Unique Display And Kinda Interesting To See Someone Arrange Thousands Of Flowers Into Something Meaningful - If Not To The Viewer, Then At Least To The Artist Herself. Anyways, We Had A Good Time, Saw A Few Bands, Did A Little Shopping And Took It All In. Hope You Like The Shot - Cheers.

Mountain Music

Last Week I Went Up To The Mountain (Blue) To See What Was Happening And We (My Sister And I) Ended Up With A Free Concert! It Was Pretty Sweet Listening To Some Sublime Inspired Tunes And Even A Few Fantastuc Covers. We Chilled In Some Muskoka Chairs And I Danced A Little With A Carton Of Iced Tea And All In All It Was Worth It. Then We Came Back To Sunset Point And Swam In The Red Water As The Sun Dipped Below The Horizon. I'll Post Some Actual Shots Of The Band Soon - This Guy Was Just Set Up On Stage Left As The Band Played The Afternoon Away.
Cheers.

Avocados, 3 For A Dollar

Down In The Kensington Market You Just Might Hear The Rockin' Blues That This Gentleman Pumps Out Of His Guitar As He Sings About His Avocados Which He Sells At The Bargain Price Of 3/$1.00. He Is Really Talented With His Fingers And Can Get A Good Jam Going While Promoting The Various Fruits And Vegetables He Has To Offer At His Shop In The Middle Of The Market. If You Ever Go Down There, Stop And Listen To The Tunes And Maybe Even Buy An Avocado Or Three. Hope You Like It Folks! Cheers.

Kensington Meat

Okay - So Those Bike Photos From A Post Or Two Ago Were Taken On An Adventure With My Sister To Kensington Market. We Spent The Day Checking Out The Miriade Of Unique Shops That Line The Narrow Streets Of The Market Shopping And Taking In The Sights. I Couldn't Turn Down The Opportunity To Shoot This Window Stuffed With Various Hanging Meats (A Little Morbid Looking) But It Turned Out Even Better Than Anticipated. I Love The Reflections And You Can Still See The Meat - And Who Doesn't Apreciate Looking At Some Good Meat, Right? Anyways, Tell Me What You Think.
Cheers.

A Day In The Life

I Get To SeeThese Sunsets Every Day Due To The Fact That I Live At "Sunset Point" Here In Collingwood. Someone Decided To Construct An Inukshuk And I Decided To Take A Picture. Hope It Pleases You.

Beachin' It Up

In Early July Dave And Lindsee Came Up To The Beach (Wasaga) To Visit Alex And Yours Truely Along With Kristy. We Hung Out And Relaxed All Night And Got Up Eary To Head To Beach 1 To Spend The Afternoon. We Soaked Up The Sun, Had Some Fun, And Did Exactly What You Are Supposed To Do At The Beach - Nothing. So Here's David And Lindsee And A Bonus Shot Of My Beloved Birkenstocks. Hope You Like'em - Maybe You Can Come Up And Visit Me At The Beach Before The Snow Flies. Cheers.

My Passion

For Those Of You That Know Me You Know That I Love Bikes - Riding Long Distances Especially. But For Those Of You That Know Me Well You Know That I Am More Passionate About Only One Other Thing. In My Life - Who Just Happens To Usually Be The Reason For The Bi-weekly 200Km+ Bike Ride - And Worth Every Mile. So Here Are A Couple Of Shots Of An Old Beaut And If You Look A Couple Of Posts Back You Just Might Find That Other Thing I'm So Passionate About. Tell Which Shot You Prefer And Maybe I'll Elaborate On Some Of The Details Of This Post A Little Later. Cheers.

Panic! At The ...Fen

Okay. I Went On A Nice Advenutre With My Pal Mason The Other Week. We Explored New Trails And Evenually Ended Up Following A Deer Trail ThroughA Forest And Into A Giant Fen (wetland). The Fen Was Awsome And We Got Completely Coverend In Stanky Mud. When It Came Time To Make Our Way Back We COuldn't Find The Deer Trail That We Followed Through The Thorny Thickets And Forest To GEt To Our Fen. With No Sense OF Where We Were Headed We Tried To Make Our Way Back To Where We Began. Half An Hour Into This Quest We Realized We Were COmletely Lost. Panic Set In Quick For Mason But I Kept My Cool - Then The Thunderstorm Rolled In - WHAT FUN! completely Lost, Covered In Mud, Scraped And Cut From Thorns And Twigs, And Early Onset Poison Ivy Starting To Irritate Us The Thunderstorm Decides To Show Up. Well This Was Fina And Dandy FOr Me -I Had No Worries, But Mason Was On A Tight Schedule And Needed To Make It Back To Civilization ASAP. I Led Him On A Zig Zagging Pattern Through The Brush Sounding As Confident As Possible But Trying To Convince Mysef Under My Skin That We'd Reach A Road Soon. Not Long After Panic Began TO Creep Up On Me But We Found The Road And Our Bikes And Headed Home With Time To Spare. Al l In All Fun TImes And I Managed To Snap These Two Shots Of The Day Lilly While It Was Raining. Which Do You Prefer?

Sizing Them Up

I While Back I Entered A Charity Race...Well Just Sort Of Showed Up I Guess. Anyways, It Was 10Km Of Sprinting That Took A Total Of 25 Minutes. These Guys Were My Most Dangerous Competition! I Scouted Them All Out And Examined Their Prep. Techniques Carefully. I Left Nothing Out - I Wanted The Competitive Edge In This Endurance Sprint To Glory. I Figured I Hang Back And Start Last And Slowly Make My Way Through Gradually Picking Up Speed As The Pack Thinned. The Plan Worked Brilliantly! By Mid Race I Was In 4th Position But The Leaders Were Nowhere In Sight. I Charged A Sand Hill Along Side The Black Ash Creek And Pushed On - Continuing To Gain Speed While Ever Increasing My Crank Arm Revolutions. At About The 7Km Mark I Had My First Place In Sight And Gave It Another Go At Increasing Speed. The Oponent Heard Me Charge And Picked Up His Pace Too. This Was Not Going To Be Handed To Me I Had To Give It All I Had If I Wanted To Come Out Victorious. The Sweat Was Pouring Off Me And My Breathing Was Irratic And Strained - "I've Got To Win!" As I Came Up Behind This Monster Of A Racer I New It Was Mine For The Taking. I Over Took Him In 2 Strides And Never Looked Back. He Fell Behind And Got Lost In My Dust As I Went On To Beat The 10 Year Old And Several Other Competitors By A Whopping 15 Minutes! I Sat On The Grass And Quietly Enjoyed My Vicory As The First Wave Of Finishers Rolled Across The Line. Then I Went Home. The End!
